U.S. History/Honors 116B 4 Credits

PREREQUISITE: WORLD CIVILIZATIONS, WORLD CIVILIZATIONS/HON OR PERMISSION OF DEPARTMENT HEAD

Using primary and secondary source readings that are significantly above grade level, U. S. History/Honors combines chronological study of American history from Reconstruction to the 1980s with a focus on historical methods and interpretations.  Students will be expected to work independently on a variety of projects including library research, group projects and an independent biography research project.  Major themes include political, economic, and social development of the American nation, including patterns of race and ethnicity; class and gender relations, expansion, and political, economic and technological change.
