Environmental Science

Environmental Science 254 2 Credits

This course, integrating concepts from the biological, chemical, ecological and earth sciences, will explore the interactions of living organisms with each other and the environment. Emphasis will be on the complexity of environmental issues and the various challenges posed in building a sustainable society. Topics may include population growth, energy usage, land use, water resources and conservation. In each unit, we will examine differing viewpoints on key environmental issues, such as air pollution, solid waste, habitat destruction and overpopulation. Evaluation will include projects, tests, labs and participation in class activities.

This course will not be offered after the 2009-2010 school year.
